Feeling Depleted? You're Not Alone.
I'm going to be real with you and tell you that this is exactly how I'm feeling right now...
Have you ever gone through a season, or maybe you're in one right now, where you just feel completely depleted? Mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted?
If you're human, and I'm pretty sure you are if you're reading this, then I'm sure your answer is YES!
Most of us have a tendency to just go, go, go, and GO!
We never seem to have enough time to slow down. And when we finally do, what happens?
We start feeling guilty.
We start thinking about everything we should be doing, everything we haven't accomplished, and everything that's still waiting for us.
And somehow, slowing down starts to feel like failure.
Like we're not doing enough.
Like we're not good enough.
Am I right?
Well, friend, I know how you feel.
But here's something I've been reminded of through God's Word:
Our worth was never meant to be measured by how much we accomplish.
3 Biblical Reminders for When You're Feeling Depleted
1. Your identity is found in Christ, not your accomplishments.
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is a gift of God's grace, not something we earn through our works.
We can be diligent in our responsibilities without allowing them to define our worth.
2. You don't have to carry everything alone.
Jesus tells us:
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
What a beautiful reminder that we can bring our burdens to Him instead of continually relying on our own strength.
3. Resting doesn't mean you're failing.
In Mark 6:31, Jesus told His disciples:
"Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while." (KJV)
Even in the middle of important work, Jesus recognized their need for rest.
So why do we sometimes feel guilty for needing it ourselves?
When we rest in God we actually get more done with peace along the way, and rest for our weary souls. God created us to BE not DO.
Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
A Little Encouragement for Today
Friend, I'm reminding myself of these truths just as much as I'm sharing them with you.
We don't have to accomplish everything today. We don't have to have everything figured out.
Sometimes we simply need to slow down, spend time with the Lord, and remember where our strength truly comes from.
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength..." — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
So today, let's stop measuring our worth by our all that we can accomplish and start resting in the truth of who we are in Christ.
Lots of love,
Kristen
